Redeemer United Church, United Church of Christ was formed through the prayerful dedication of 14 familienvaeters on October 14, 1900. Their original dream was to create a warm and friendly Christian house to worship and praise the Living God. Through Spiritual growth within the membership, this dream has continued throughout the years.
Redeemer United Church has been in covenant with the United Church of Christ since the merger in 1957, which united the Congregational and Christian Churches, and the Evangelical and Reformed Church.
-
The Congregational Churches began in the 1620's with the Pilgrim settlers.
-
The Christian Churches were organized by frontier people in 1820.
-
The Reformed Churches came from Switzerland and the Rhine Valley in the early 1700's.
-
The Evangelical Churches were organized in Germany and migrated to America in the early 1800's.
From their rich heritage, within each tradition, of mission, active social concern, service to God and living the Gospel in our common life - a covenant union was formed following the words of Jesus, "That we all might be one."
WE BELIEVE
That everyone is welcome in God's House
In the triune nature of God
Jesus Christ is the sole head and cornerstone of the church
The bible contains the inspired word of God
God calls all people to ministry as her/his gifts allow
Only through Christ's death and resurrection can our sins be forgiven
We find guidance and support through God's Spirit
God created all people in his image; claiming us as His beloved
